John H. Icardi
Mr. Icardi has built twenty-eight years of successful experience working in and with small and large healthcare companies.
He began his healthcare business career in 1983 as a sales surgical products sales representative in Houston, Texas and was promoted to increasingly responsible positions in Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) subsidiary businesses through 1996. Positions included Division Sales Manager, Sales Training and Administration Director, Product Manager, Group Product Manager, VP of Sales Operations, VP Sales and Marketing and VP Marketing and Business Development.
Mr. Icardi began writing business plans and raising seed capital with California based entrepreneur Stuart Edwards in late 1996. He collaborated on the initiation and funding of four RF technology start-up companies through 1999. All achieved initial funding and two were successfully sold to Medtronic Inc. in the early 2000 period.
From 2000 to 2004 Mr. Icardi was hired as Marketing and Business Development consultant collaborated to establish two boutique medical device CROs. Mr. Icardi led the revenue growth of CL McIntosh & Associates, Rockville MD and Eminent Research, NY, NY. Both firms reached $15M in regulatory and clinical affairs service revenue focused on class III device FDA and CE approval. Both were sold to larger CRO parent companies Celeris and PPD in 2003 and 2004.
From 2005 to 2009 Mr. Icardi represented two Washington DC based physician organizations, The Heart Rhythm Society and The American College of Preventive Medicine to the medical device, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Mr. Icardi worked with the physician boards of each organization and raised $4M collectively for special purpose physician education projects. He also represented the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association, a patient advocacy group, successfully working to expand the prevalence of AEDs in public locations.
During 2009 and 2010 Mr. Icardi was CEO of Ortho Ion, an Israel based drug device technology. In addition he was President of his own consulting firm Strategic Business Works Inc (SBW) and joined TCG in the fall of 2011.
Mr. Icardi has been an invited speaker at the Johns Hopkins University MBA program in Washington DC and founded and operated a charitable 501©3 foundation from 1996 to 2010 in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.
