Dr. Reinhard Merz
Based in Heidelberg, Germany, Dr. Reinhard Merz has twenty years of experience in medical research, healthcare marketing and e-business for Fortune 500, mid-sized and start-up firms.
Dr. Merz has been involved in the development of the German health card system for two different companies (Intercomponentware AG, Integrated Health Services GmbH). Previously, he was Marketing and eBusiness Director for PreCon Gmbh & Co KG in Darmstadt, planning and executing all communications and product launches for four years.
Prior to PreCon, Dr. Merz was Senior Product Manager at Smith Kline Beecham Pharma creating and developing strategies for online services used by customers, physicians and the company’s sales force while coordinating with the international SB Pharma online group. He also was a Medical Editor, Product Manager and Manager of direct marketing & sales for Springer Scientific Publishers.
Dr. Merz conducted research at the German Cancer Center in Heidelberg after receiving a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Mainz and training at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) and the University of Kiel.
